India’s winless streak continued as they were beaten 6–3 by Belgium in the FIH Hockey Pro League 2024–25 in Antwerp on Saturday.
Arthur Van Doren scored twice (1’, 54’) while Alexander Hendrickx (28’), Roman Duvekot (49’), Thibeau Stockbroekx (53’) and Tom Boon (59’) added to Belgium’s tally. For India, goals from Dilpreet Singh (36’), Mandeep Singh (38’) and Amit Rohidas (56’) briefly kept them in contention.
Belgium scored within the first minute following two penalty corners. Although Suraj Karkera saved Hendrickx’s drag-flick, Van Doren capitalised on the rebound. Despite India’s efforts to gain control, Hendrickx doubled the lead just before half-time.
India responded with two quick goals in the third quarter. Dilpreet converted from a rebound, and Mandeep equalised soon after. However, Belgium regained control with Duvekot scoring early in the final quarter, followed by goals from Stockbroekx, Van Doren and Boon.
Amit Rohidas briefly narrowed the gap, but India could not prevent another defeat.
