India captain Rohit Sharma has moved up to second place in the latest ICC Men’s ODI batting rankings, overtaking Pakistan’s Babar Azam, who slipped to third after a lean run against the West Indies.
Rohit’s rise comes as part of the weekly ICC update that also saw major shifts in the T20I and Test rankings. In T20Is, Australia’s Tim David climbed six spots to a career-best 10th after emerging as the leading run-scorer in the first two matches against South Africa. His teammate Cameron Green also rose six places to 17th.
For South Africa, Dewald Brevis made the biggest jump — from outside the top 100 to 21st — following his unbeaten 125 in Darwin, the highest individual T20I score for his country. Tristan Stubbs also gained 12 spots to joint 27th.
In the T20I bowling chart, Australia’s Josh Hazlewood moved up three places to 20th, while South African pacers Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi rose to joint 44th and 50th, respectively.
The Test rankings brought good news for New Zealand after their 2-0 sweep over Zimbabwe. Pacer Matt Henry, who claimed 16 wickets at 9.12, climbed to third in the bowling rankings, pushing Australia’s Pat Cummins down to fourth. In the batting list, Rachin Ravindra, Devon Conway and Henry Nicholls also improved their positions.
In ODIs, West Indies spinner Gudakesh Motie jumped to 12th in the bowling rankings, pacer Jayden Seales climbed 24 places to 33rd, and Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed rose to 54th.
