Jasprit Bumrah has equalled Kapil Dev’s record for the most five-wicket hauls by an Indian in overseas Tests, taking 5/83 during England’s first innings at Headingley.
The Indian fast bowler’s latest performance took his tally to 12 five-wicket hauls outside India, matching that of the former India captain. Bumrah’s effort came in the ongoing Test match against England, where he led India’s bowling attack on a favourable Headingley surface.
Despite his success, Jasprit Bumrah missed out on additional wickets due to multiple dropped catches. Former India batter Sachin Tendulkar acknowledged this in a post on social media platform X.
“Congratulations Bumrah! A no-ball and 3 missed chances stood between you and nau (nine) wickets,” Tendulkar posted.
