The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Friday announced a global partnership with Google aimed at transforming fan engagement in women’s cricket.
The collaboration will see the ICC tap into Google’s technology ecosystem — including Android, Google Gemini, Google Pay, and Google Pixel — to create more dynamic and accessible experiences for fans. From discovering match highlights to celebrating victories, the integrated platform is expected to bring audiences closer to key moments, players, and stories in women’s cricket.
The agreement comes at a pivotal time, with two major tournaments on the horizon: the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 in India and Sri Lanka, followed by the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 in England and Wales. Earlier this year, Unilever was announced as the ICC’s first global partner for the women’s game, marking a series of steps toward expanding its reach and visibility.
Calling the collaboration a “landmark moment,” ICC Chairman Jay Shah said the partnership would help take women’s cricket “to even greater heights.” He added, “By harnessing Google’s world-class innovation, we will be able to create more engaging experiences for fans and bring the sport closer to people everywhere.”
Google also underlined the wider impact of the alliance. “Cricket has always been about community and shared passion,” said Shekar Khosla, VP of Marketing at Google India. “This is not just about a single tournament. It’s about deeper engagement, wider accessibility, and enabling fans to connect more strongly with the sport they love.”
With the women’s game expanding rapidly, the ICC believes this partnership will help strengthen its global footprint and inspire new generations of fans and players.
