The 2025 Men’s T20 Asia Cup will be held in the United Arab Emirates, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi officially confirmed as the host cities. The tournament will take place from September 9 to 28, with Dubai hosting 11 matches, including the high-voltage final, while Abu Dhabi will stage eight games.
India’s much-anticipated Group A clash against Pakistan is scheduled for September 14 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The Men in Blue will also play UAE on September 10 in Dubai and face Oman in Abu Dhabi on September 19.
“Hosting the Asia Cup in the UAE allows us to bring the excitement to one of the most vibrant cricketing hubs in the world,” said Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President Mohsin Naqvi in a statement issued on Saturday. “Dubai and Abu Dhabi are well equipped to deliver a seamless and world-class experience for players, fans, and broadcasters alike.”
India, Pakistan, UAE and Oman are placed in Group A, while Group B comprises Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Hong Kong China. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the Super Fours, and the top two from that stage will play in the final in Dubai on September 28.
This edition will feature eight teams — the highest in the history of the Asia Cup — and will be played in the T20I format in preparation for the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup. It is also the first time the Asia Cup will include eight nations.
While India is the designated host for the 17th edition, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will stage the event in the UAE following an agreement with Pakistan to hold matches at neutral venues due to ongoing diplomatic tensions.
India enters the tournament as defending champions, having clinched the 2023 edition in the 50-over format in Colombo, while Sri Lanka won the last T20 version of the tournament in 2022.
