Rishabh Pant has been declared fit by the BCCI medical team and is set to return to competitive cricket ahead of India’s home series against South Africa next month.

The 28-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman will feature for Delhi in the Ranji Trophy, with his first match scheduled from October 25 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The game will be crucial in assessing his match readiness following injury.

Rishabh Pant has been under rehabilitation at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru after suffering a toe injury during the Manchester Test against England. The injury, caused by a yorker from Chris Woakes, forced him to miss the final Test of the series, which ended in a 2-2 draw.

He also missed the subsequent two-Test series in the West Indies, where Dhruv Jurel and Narayan Jagadeesan replaced him. India won that series 2-0.

A selector confirmed that Rishabh Pant has been monitored by the National Cricket Academy and will need to prove his form and fitness in the Ranji Trophy. A member of the selection panel will attend the match to evaluate his performance.

With India set to host South Africa from November 14, Pant’s showing in domestic cricket will be closely watched as the selectors consider reintegrating him into the national squad. The series includes two Tests, three ODIs and five T20Is across various venues.
