Joe Root was named CEAT men’s international cricketer of the year at the 27th CEAT Cricket Rating Awards 2025 held in Mumbai. The event, hosted by CEAT, one of India’s leading tyre manufacturers, brought together cricketing legends, rising stars, and dignitaries to celebrate outstanding performances across formats.
Brian Lara and BS Chandrasekhar were jointly honoured with the CEAT lifetime achievement award. Lara expressed gratitude for the continued recognition of his career, while Chandrasekhar described the award as humbling and motivating.
Among other major accolades, Smriti Mandhana was named women’s international batter of the year, while Deepti Sharma won the women’s international bowler of the year award. Kane Williamson and Matt Henry took home the men’s ODI batter and bowler of the year titles, respectively.
Sanju Samson and Varun Chakravarthy were recognised as the best men’s T20I batter and bowler. Shreyas Iyer received a memento for scoring the highest runs by an Indian in the 2025 Champions Trophy, while Rohit Sharma was honoured for captaining India to the title.
Chairman of RPG Group, Harsh Goenka, described the awards as a tribute to the enduring magic of cricket, while chief adjudicator Sunil Gavaskar noted the credibility of the ratings over nearly three decades.
Temba Bavuma received the CEAT exemplary leadership award. Emerging player Angkrish Raghuvanshi and domestic cricketer Harsh Dubey were also recognised.
The awards ceremony reflected the ongoing relevance of cricket as a unifying passion, celebrated in a grand setting that brought together the sporting and cultural elite.
