India’s Rishabh Pant and England’s Ben Duckett reached new personal bests in the ICC Men’s Test Batter Rankings following the first Test at Headingley, Leeds.
Rishabh Pant moved to seventh overall after scoring 134 and 118, becoming the second wicket-keeper after Zimbabwe’s Andy Flower to hit two centuries in a single Test. Duckett, who made 62 and 149, earned Player of the Match honours and climbed five spots to eighth.
England’s Ollie Pope rose to 19th, Jamie Smith to 27th, and India captain Shubman Gill to 20th after their contributions at Leeds. Joe Root remains the top-ranked Test batter, followed by Harry Brook.
In Galle, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh’s drawn Test saw Mushfiqur Rahim jump 11 spots to 28th after a 163-run knock, and Najmul Hossain Shanto rose 21 places to 29th after scoring two centuries.
Jasprit Bumrah held his No.1 ranking among Test bowlers. England captain Ben Stokes moved up three places to fifth in Test all-rounders after contributing with both bat and ball.
In T20I rankings, the Netherlands’ Michael Levitt rose to 14th, Scotland’s Brandon McMullen to joint-38th, and spinner Mark Watt to 38th following the tri-series in Glasgow. Nepal’s Lalit Rajbanshi moved up 29 spots to 54th among bowlers after taking four wickets.
